Technological services in progress
Technical assistance in biological treatment of liquid effluents from U1200 and PAO plants
Advice for the operation of two biological treatment plants of liquid effluents, U1200 plant in YPF CILP (Refinery), and PAO Plant in YPF CIE (ex Mosconi). The objectives are to evaluate the efficiency of microbiological processes, the adjustment of the operation, the quality control of the final effluent and the delivery of training courses. It has been carried out since 1995.
Integrated monitoring program of water and sediment quality of the Matanza-Riachuelo Basin and the Southern Coastal Strip and systematization of the information generated
FCNyM- Secretariat for Environment and Sustainable Development – ACUMAR. Application of biotic indexes and habitat assessment.
Responsibles: Alberto Rodrigues Capítulo (Bentos Lab) y Nora Gómez (Plankton and Biofilms Lab).
Integrated Monitoring Program of water and sediment quality of the Matanza-Riachuelo Basin and the Southern Coastal Strip and Systematization of Generated Information. FCNyM- Secretariat for Environment and Sustainable Development – ACUMAR. Application of biotic indices and habitat assessment." The objectives are the evaluation and monitoring of the water quality of the Matanza-Riachuelo basin and the Southern Coastal Strip of the Río de la Plata from the study of biofilms, phytoplankton and chlorophyll "a". Habitat characterization and assessment is also performed at established sampling sites.
Ictiofauna monitoring programme in surface watercourses of the Matanza- Riachuelo watershed
Responsible: Darío C. Colautti (Fish Ecology Lab)
In environmental monitoring programs, fish turn out to be good indicators because they have a wide variety of trophic levels and are present in all environments including smaller streams. It is then inferred that the degree of alteration of the environments can be diagnosed from the characteristics of fish assemblies. This is why the ictiofauna of surface watercourses in the Matanza-Riachuelo basin will be studied under the ACUMAR-CEC 4 PECES Convention. The specific composition at different sites in the basin will be determined to establish a distribution scheme for species and analysed how fish assemblies relate to water quality data.
Limnological study of the reservoir of Rio Tercero(Córdoba, Argentina)
Contract No. 4500031763. Raúl A. Ringuelet Institute of Limnology Convention, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum, UNLP, and Nucleoelectric Argentina.
Responsible: Alejandro Mariñelarena
Evaluate physical-chemical quality of water, bacterial populations, plankton production, phytoand and zooplankton communities and fish communities. Methodology: bimonthly monitoring of the above variables, laboratory analysis according to standardized methodologies and annual reportmaking. This type of study and monitoring has been carried out since 1977, with brief interruptions, constituting one of the longest series of data in reservoir limnology in our country.
Scientific-technological work agreement between the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum, UNLP, and YPF S.A. on sources, transport and biodegradation of pollutants in particulate matter and sediments of the Santiago River and Río de la Plata in the northern area of the Polo Petrochemical.
